“Danielle Bartlette
Calgary-based artist, Danielle Bartlette, is a Canadian painter who uses mixed media on canvas/wood examining complex relationships between place and memory, texture and colour.
With each art series, Bartlette draws upon movements such as abstract expressionism, art nouveau, pop art, and excessivism to help create her work, identifying as an artist inspired by postmodernism. Collage, typography, signage, glued components (ie: semi-precious and plastic embellishments, 24K Gold) and paint are used to plot her memories of a particular time or place, separating and recombining them in new formations.
Danielle Bartlette was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she attended the School of Art (Fine Arts Honours Program at the University of Manitoba). In 2000, she moved to Calgary to further her experience as an artist and currently exhibits artwork for sale through local galleries. Her paintings are scattered in homes, private & corporate collections around Canada, USA, and Europe. Danielle started her own business, Neon Milkshake Art Studio, in 2016 and has been facilitating art classes since 2007.”
