Jacqueline Sabourin Warkentin is a self-taught artist whom originally hails from Winnipeg Manitoba, now residing in Calgary Alberta.

Her love and appreciation of the arts has been a persistent trait throughout her life.

Jacqueline is drawn to places, people and items in life that are steeped in history, character and culture. This charm can easily be seen in how she approaches the canvas while creating.

Although forever experimenting with new techniques and mediums, she can frequently be found to use a variety of gels, oil, acrylic and water color paints on canvas.

Via the process of blending classic composition techniques with a modern twist, she has been able to produce works that have a density and complexity all their own. Each piece calls for the viewer’s eye to linger, explore and play throughout the layers consisting of rich tones, varying opacity and textures.

With her unwavering attention to detail, alongside patience and passion for things that inspire her, Jacqueline’s pieces have a vibrancy and pallet that can draw the eye with energy from across the room.  Once the initial impact of the image is taken in, it then simultaneously lures you closer to inspect the detail and individual effortless looking brush strokes. Each bursting with character all its own.

Jacqueline has completed both commissions and freelance works alike. She hopes to be able to bring a smile and uplifting energy to those who experience her paintings.
